    Rock bolts

Rock bolts are typically used as a form of stabilisation for loose rock boulders or to help with aid of rock fall netting. We have extensive experience in difficult access jobs and provide a quick response in getting to you if required immediate attention and rectification.

    Temporary ground anchors

Temporary ground anchors are used as part of a retaining system and prevents the excavation works from collapsing. The aim is to support the surrounding structures by drilling into the ground and grouting in high tensile strands until work is completed. We then de-stress as the anchors then become redundant.

    Soil Nails

Similar to rockbolts, except that the tendon is typically installed in cohesive soil (clay or weathered rock) faces or embankments.
Soil nailing can be an economical technique for stabilising road and railway cuttings, and is usually complimented with the use of shotcrete on the face of the exposed cutting.

    Shotcreting

Shotcreting, also known as sprayed concrete or gunite, is a construction technique used to apply a layer of concrete onto surfaces with the help of high-velocity pneumatic equipment. The process involves a mixture of cement, aggregates, and water being propelled through a hose under pressure, and then sprayed onto the desired surface. Shotcreting offers several advantages, such as excellent adhesion, quick application, and the ability to conform to complex shapes or uneven surfaces. It is commonly used for structural repairs, underground construction, tunnel linings, swimming pools, retaining walls, and slope stabilization. The controlled application of shotcrete provides a durable and versatile solution for various construction needs.

    Catch fences

A catch fence is a type of protective barrier commonly used in ground stabilisation works to mitigate the risks associated with soil erosion and landslides. It is designed to intercept and contain falling debris, soil, or rocks, preventing them from reaching a specific area or causing damage. Catch fences are typically constructed using a combination of sturdy materials, such as steel wires or cables, along with support posts. The fence is strategically placed in areas prone to slope instability or where there is a risk of soil displacement. It acts as a barrier, intercepting any loose material that may be dislodged due to natural forces or excavation activities.

    Soldier shoring

A soldier shoring wall, also known as soldier pile wall or soldier beam wall, is a type of temporary or permanent retaining structure used in construction to stabilize soil and provide support for excavations. It consists of a series of vertical steel or concrete beams, known as soldier piles, which are spaced at regular intervals along the wall. These soldier piles are driven or drilled into the ground, typically reinforced with concrete or steel. The soldier piles act as the primary vertical members of the wall, resisting lateral soil pressure and preventing the collapse of the surrounding soil. Horizontal support elements, such as timber lagging, steel sheet piles, or concrete panels, are then placed between the soldier piles to create a cohesive wall structure.

    Retaining wall rectification

Retaining wall rectification works refer to the repairs or modifications carried out on existing retaining walls to address issues such as structural deficiencies, instability, or damage. Retaining walls are designed to hold back soil and provide support for grade changes, but over time, they can experience various problems that require rectification to ensure their functionality, stability, and safety. Retaining wall rectification works typically involve a comprehensive assessment of the existing wall to identify the underlying causes of the issues. This assessment may include analysing the wall’s design, materials, construction methods, soil conditions, drainage systems, and any external factors contributing to the problems.

    Roof Bolting

For safety we must include quality roof bolting. This involves drilling into rock with pneumatic powered drills to either stabilise loose roof foundations, shotcrete or bolts that may be used as anchor points for exhaust fans in tunnels.
